The first month with a newborn is filled with unforgettable moments, new experiences, and plenty of questions. The Mama Medics Welcome Home Program is designed to provide personalized pediatric care and support during this special time—without leaving the comfort of your home.

From preparing for your baby’s arrival to navigating the first month together, our team is here to provide expert medical care, guidance, and reassurance every step of the way.

Our program is designed to complement—not replace—your baby’s primary pediatrician by providing convenient in-home care, seamless communication, and continuity during the transition home.

Your Welcome Home Journey

Prenatal Consultation

Before your baby arrives, you’ll meet with one of our board-certified pediatricians to prepare for your newborn’s first weeks at home.

Topics may include:

  • What to expect during your baby’s first month

  • Feeding preparation

  • Safe sleep recommendations

  • Newborn care essentials

  • Building your personalized care plan

  • Time to ask questions before delivery

Optional Hospital Meet & Greet

When available, your Mama Medics pediatrician can stop by the hospital to congratulate your growing family, answer early questions, and help support a smooth transition home.

Home Visit One

Welcome Home
Within approximately 48 hours after hospital discharge

Your baby’s first in-home visit includes:

  • Comprehensive newborn physical examination

  • Weight assessment

  • Feeding evaluation

  • Jaundice assessment

  • Umbilical cord evaluation

  • Circumcision assessment, when applicable

  • Review of hospital records

  • Medication and vitamin guidance

  • Safe sleep education

  • Personalized care plan

Home Visit Two

Growing Together
Approximately 2 weeks of age

This visit focuses on your baby’s progress and your family’s evolving needs.

We’ll review:

  • Weight gain and growth

  • Feeding progress

  • Sleep and newborn behaviors

  • Parent questions and concerns

  • Ongoing newborn education and guidance

Home Visit Three

One-Month Wellness
Approximately 4 weeks of age

As your baby reaches the one-month milestone, we’ll assess growth and development while helping prepare your family for the months ahead.

This visit includes:

  • Growth and developmental assessment

  • Feeding and nutrition review

  • Medication and vitamin guidance

  • Newborn milestones

  • Transition planning with your baby’s primary pediatrician

  • Time to discuss remaining questions or concerns

Support Throughout the First Month

In addition to your scheduled visits, your family will receive:

  • Virtual visits throughout the program when clinically appropriate

  • Secure direct messaging with the Mama Medics team

  • Personalized medication guidance from our pediatric clinical pharmacist

  • Care coordination with your baby’s primary pediatrician and healthcare team

  • Evidence-based newborn education and anticipatory guidance

  • Complimentary enrollment in eligible First Year Collective educational classes

Infant & Child CPR Certification

Families may add our Infant & Child CPR Certification course for hands-on training in infant and child CPR and choking response.

If your baby needs additional in-home visits beyond the three included in the Welcome Home Program, they may be scheduled separately at our current in-home visit rates.
